Parent Resources

It can be easy to find information online...but how do you know if it is reliable, factual information? As a parent, an online search can be convenient--and overwhelming. We hope you will find these links and resources from our community partners helpful to learn more about mental health as well as drug and alcohol use, gain new tools to talk to your kids, and find support when you may need it most. Be sure to follow us on our social media platforms to stay updated on all that we offer for Downingtown parents.

“Parents Who Host, Lose the Most” Campaign

CTC is excited to partner with the Downingtown Area School District this spring to share the ‘Parents Who Host, Lose the Most’ campaign. This awareness campaign aims to help prevent underage drinking in our community by sharing the facts about the risks and dangers that come with it.  Be sure to follow CTC and DASD on our social media platforms each week to learn more and test your knowledge.

The topics for the upcoming weeks will be:

  • Where to go to find accurate information regarding alcohol facts & prevention efforts.

  • Keeping your kids safe by protecting their health and educating them about the risks of underage drinking.

  • Continuing the conversation with your children about not drinking underage.  Where do kids get alcohol and is everyone drinking accurate?

  • How to access and utilize the parent pledge as a resource to show your child how seriously you take their health & wellbeing.

  • Staying consistent in your messaging that underage drinking is not ok and that you as a parent will never provide alcohol for teens.

In addition, we have highlighted our webinars and podcasts that focus on raising awareness of alcohol misuse and providing resources for prevention, recovery, and support for National Alcohol Awareness Month, which takes place during the month of April.
